floral head wreath

Just wanted to share these photos with you from our afternoon walk the other day. We live really close to a beautiful river which is surrounded by parks and lots of gorgeous walking tracks, so we like going for walks as much as possible. The other day as we were walking I saw a bunch of little white flowers growing on the side of the path. I don't know what came over me, but I insisted we stop, so I can pick them and make myself a floral head wreath. Scott even helped me pick some flowers.

So when I had finished, I popped it on my head and off we went. A few hundred meters down the path and we came across this delightful little kitty. Well, he wasn't that little, but he was just so darn adorable. He was very friendly, so we stopped again to give him a good old scratch. Our one hour walk turned into one and a half, but it was well worth it. I scored a hand-made head wreath and made a new friend.

twenty-six

My darling husband, Scott, turned twenty-six last week. Here are some photos of how we celebrated the day...

His birthday started off with made-from-scratch pancakes with strawberries drizzled with golden syrup.

I was on holidays from work last week, so while Scott was at work, I baked his favourite - banana muffins. I had bought these "happy birthday" candles from the two dollar shop a few days earlier and they were the perfect finish !

I let him choose where he would like to go out for dinner for his birthday and he said he wanted to go to the same place we celebrated our engagement - The Cyprus Club in Stanmore. Usually this place is full of life, packed with lots of people, and with live music..... but as we went on a Thursday night - it was a little bit different, and definitely not what we expected. We walked into an almost empty room, filled with about a dozen pensioners. It was "ten-dollar dinner and raffle night".We were the only people under the age of sixty for sure. It was a bit awkward, we didn't know if we should laugh or cry - we couldn't just leave as all of the 15 people there saw us walk in.... So in we went, had a really cheap dinner, which might I add was a huge serving.... and tried our luck at the raffle. Unfortunately, ten dollars worth of raffle wasn't enough to win us any prizes but we did have a fabulous time. All in all Scott's b-day dinner cost $35 including dinner, raffles and drinks. Bargain.

Happy Birthday my love.

forgotten spring

(dress: dotti, coat: ally, wedges: rubi, bag: forever new)

I must apologise profusely for not posting much these past few weeks. I've been on school holidays and thought I would be in full blogging mode but the Sydney weather of late has really got me down. Apparently its Spring. I should be frolicking around in pretty dresses and skirts, with matching cardigans, as the sun shines upon my cheeks and  people smile for no other reason than it's Spring. Am I doing all this? No. Instead Sydney has forgotten what Spring is... The sun is not warm, and barely around actually. The wind is ice cold, which means naked legs with skirts or pretty dresses is a big no-no. Our electric blanket is on every night, giving me the warmth I am so longing for from the sun, but for which it is not giving me.

The night I wore this outfit, my legs froze. Seriously. I bought these tan coloured wedges not long ago and I had been itching to wear them. So last Thursday night, being Scott's birthday and all, I decided "What the heck!".Thank God I remembered to put on a coat, otherwise someone would of surely claimed I was insane.

Welcome to my second "holiday" give-away. This gorgeous bracelet is from Malta. I was drawn to it because of the colour and pattern of the big round beads. Its got a thick elastic that runs through the middle, so it should fit anyone easily!

To enter, all you need to do is follow my blog publicly, and leave a comment with your email address so I can contact you if you win! Good Luck. I'll determine the winner two weeks from now, Tuesday the 18th of October.
